Welcome to Great Western Carvings.

Welcome to Great Western Carvings. I have over 25 years experience doing scrimshaw and carvings. All carvings and jewelry are hand made. I don't use laser duplication, masking, or sticker machines. You will receive a one of a kind carving. I free hand my carvings so you will never see another like it again. You will truly receive a one of a kind carving or scrimshaw with your order.

For scrimshaw carvings I use two old knives passed down from my grandfather (Fly's With Eagles). I use them for two reasons. One is they were passed down to me from a great man and two they give great detail to any scrimshaw. I owe everything to my grandfather.

I continue to do carvings for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and many other businesses. If you are a business looking to buy carvings for your store. I will never use pictures of those carvings on my website. Our business together is completely confidential unless you say other wise.

My antler carvings are great for home decor or cabins. All antler carvings are hand carved and are a one of a kind. I can do the carvings with just black Indian Ink or add color to them. I seal all carvings for many years of enjoyment. I carve on all sorts of antlers to include whitetail deer antlers, mule deer antlers, fallow deer antlers, elk antlers, and moose antlers.

The jewelry I make is all hand carved and is one of a kind. I start with a piece of bone and carve away until I have a one of a kind pendant. I use no patterns and carve everything free hand. You will always get a one of a kind jewelry pendant from me. I use either bison bone or cow bone to carve my popular feather pendants. I do a lot of turquoise inlay for my carved jewelry pendants. I however can put turquoise inlay in any of my carvings if you are looking for something special. I also carve pendants out of deer antlers and can come up with some unique designs. I seal all my pendants for years of enjoyment.

I also make bone and antler bolo ties that are hand carved. I can make them in any shape you would like. I use leather cord and can do my grandfather's famous rattle snake tips on the ends of the leather cord.

The wood carvings I do would look great on any wall, used for home decor or at a cabin. I use no patterns and free hand all my drawings before I carve them. You are truly getting a one of a kind hand carved wood carving. I use many different kinds of stains on my carvings and also paint some of them. They all have a finishing seal on them for years of enjoyment.

The Knives I make are either out of bone or deer antler. I carve out the bone or antler to fit my blades. I also hand carve all my carvings that I put on any knife. I also will carve anything you would like on your own personal antlers with your blades. I have done many knife sets for customers and businesses.

The Scrimshaw carvings I do are on bone, deer antlers, elk antlers, moose antlers, or ivory. I usually will use a pattern to do my scrimshaw, but they are still completely done by hand. The pictures I use are usually for family portraits, pets, or famous photos a client is wanting. You will still be getting a one of a kind scrimshaw carving hand carved and not a computer laser copy of something. I use two old knives passed down from my grandfather (Fly's With Eagles). I use them for two reasons. One is they were passed down to me from a great man and two they give great detail to any scrimshaw. I owe everything to my grandfather.

I carve on all sorts of material such as: whitetail deer antlers, mule deer antlers, fallow deer antlers, moose antlers, elk antlers, buffalo bone, bison bone, cow bone, elk bone, ivory, teeth, and wood.

I do personal carvings. You may contact me at carvingantlers@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Please put carvings in the subject.
